This would be one of the advanced technology which is to be supported to make Windows 8 more better and good competitor for others. Well, read the article to get more information about the support of USB 3.0 in Windows 8.

Windows 8, the next generation operating system from Microsoft is on the way to reach you by the mid of 2012. But before it is released let us seeing in details how and why Windows 8 going to bring a change in our technology World. Windows 8 stated itself to be the most awaited operating system with multi-featured facility attracting all the people towards it. Well, we have got earlier many Windows operating system but this Windows 8 is said to be the most advanced operating system featuring many features.

Now, another feature of windows 8 which was added to it to make it stronger competitor than any operating system is having the native support to USB 3.0 controllers. The Director of Program Management for the Devices and Networking Group of Microsoft's Mr. Dennis Flanagan told that, Windows 8 will have the native support of USB 3.0 controllers which would be a contrast to the previous versions of Windows that requires separate drivers for USB 3.0 controllers.

Well, this would be surprising news and moreover now a day's all laptops, desktops both high and mid end and also motherboards started to give their support USB 3.0. Also AMD's A75 chipset which is used with Socket F1 Llano CPUs and Intel's Ivy Bridge Chipset are already built and designed with supporting USB 3.0. So by this year we would expect all other chip set models from AMD and Intel to have native support to USB 3.0.

USB 3.0 has been becoming more popular and easily available at an affordable which would act as best storage devices. Thus on seeing those advantages Microsoft made it clear that they will go on to make Windows 8 to support USB 3.0 controllers which would be just like supporting the USB 1.1 and 2.0 controllers which are supported now.

Also the most important thing note about Microsoft implementing this USB 3.0 with Windows 8 is, unlike other operating system versions like windows 7 or anything which they would just add the support on the top of the roots from Windows 95 for USB 1.1 and 2.0 software stack. But now for Windows 8, the Microsoft's engineers have worked to write and develop a new software stack for USB 3.0 retaining the older stacks for USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices separately. To develop this new software stack for USB 3.0, they engineers have refined a new software model called the Zing which would act as a checking tool to test each and every aspect of its software model.

Also another custom tool called MUTT (USB Test Tool) was created to stimulate the full range of network which covers the USB 3.0 standard and have extensive hardware testing for it. Effectively this made Microsoft engineers to test 1,000 different USB devices with a single USB thumb drive.

USB 3.0 has a throughput where it is 10 times faster than USB 2.0 in addition to the improved power management. And this the world's most popular PC interface has now been integrated into Windows 8 which would make it more advanced and tends people to go for it. Also this USB 3.0 would be the best competitor for Apple as it has opted for the faster Thunderbolt standard. Also Microsoft told that Windows 8 will also support the older USB devices and specifications where this USB 3.0 interface would just boast the robust support for USB 3.0 devices.

Flanagan, the Director of Program Management for the Devices and Networking Group said that, "The decision to invest in USB 3.0 was an easy one to make, but doing so without compromising the existing USB ecosystem was a big challenge to overcome," Also he added that, "Our design had to follow the revised 3.0 specification precisely in order to enable emerging USB 3.0 hardware. There are also billions of older USB devices that Windows must remain compatible with."

Well, also Microsoft has released an video to explain and demonstrate the work and functions of USB 3.0 in Windows 8. This video would clearly explain the standards and functions of this USB 3.0 which is supported by Windows 8.
