How to close Windows Explorer in Windows 7 and Vista using hidden trick

This article explains how to close the Windows Explorer in Windows 7 and Windows Vista using a hidden trick which can be closed by using Task manager


How to close the Windows Explorer in Windows


Windows Explorer is the one of the important part of a Windows operating system. Everything what we see is on the Windows Explorer. If Windows explorer crashes then all the opened applications will also get restarted. Windows Explorer is can be killed or closed using different ways and it is necessary to close and start a new Windows Explorer. By closing the Windows Explorer will not affect your opened applications.

In Windows Vista and Windows 7 there are some other ways to close the Windows Explorer. Sometimes if one way is not helping us to close it then you can try with another way to exit Windows Explorer. Everyone knows how to kill the Windows Explorer using Task manager.

Click Windows start menu and press Ctrl + Shift button together in the empty place of your Windows startup menu and right click the mouse button will show you Exit Explorer. Click the Exit Explorer will close the Windows Explorer.

In order to get it back you can open the task manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc or right click the mouse button on the task bar and click Task Manager will open the task manager Window. Click the File menu and click New Run (Task…) will open Create New Task button and type Explorer and press enter button to open the Windows Explorer again (Check the below screenshot).

Old method to close the Widows Explorer is open the Task manager and click the Processes tab and press e until you find the explorer and right click the mouse button on explorer.exe and select End Process to kill the Windows Explorer (Check the below screen shot)
