This particular Microsoft IIS Express is the web server that works in the Visual web developer 2010 and also in the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. Initially in the previous versions the web server have to be installed separately in the operating system and have to be configured so that this gives the option to deploy the application that is created. In the Visual studio 2005 and 2008 there is an in built ASP.NET Web Development server. From 2.0 versions onwards the IIS is automatically installed and enabled during the run time.

What makes the IIS Developer Express more special

All the features of the IIS are combined with the ASP.NET web server with the help of the IIS Express. IIS express is helps in many other criteria also. IIS Developer Express is a very small application that is less than 10 MB in size. There are many advantages in using the IIS Express and the major advantage is that IIS Express does not require any administrator account and the other most important feature is that it will not demand for any code changes in order to use in the IIS Express.

IIS express can easily lunch from the directory in order to run an ASP.NET web page. In order to run an ASP.NET web page there is no additional requirement necessary. Usually the demand for the admin rights will be made for the installation and configuration but it is not demanded by IIS express and this is the best feature to consider in the IIS Express.

• The options that are supported in the IIS 7 are all supported in the IIS Express.

• Another great thing about IIS Express is that it works with windows 7, windows vista and windows XP. This is indeed a great information for the XP users because they will be expecting this to a greater extent.

• There is no conflict that you can install the IIS Express even though you have already installed the IIS web server and ASP.NET Development Server installed in the system.

• Classic ASP and other files types are also given support by the IIS Express.

• IIS Express provided remote requests. Usually normal websites that are running in ASP.NET Development Server cannot be accessed from remote host.

• Microsoft states that IIS Developer Express has no connection limit so redistribution is also possible in IIS Developer Express.

• There will be a patch released for the Visual studio 2010 and Visual Developer 2010 Express as a support but in the future the IIS Developer Express will be integrated along with the Visual Studio and Visual Developer. The beta version is expected for the release.
