In this article I would like to introduce few simple steps and techniques which would prevent our passwords being identified and recorded by the key logging software.

How to overcome key-loggers problem

Key Logger can be termed as a software or a malicious program that records all our keystrokes that we perform on our physical keyboard. This turns to be highly dangerous when all our passwords being typed from our keyboard are being tracked.

Many websites like banking websites are offering virtual keyboards to key in the passwords to avoid such password theft issues. But many of us tend to use the physical keyboard not knowing the reason and the benefit of using the virtual keyboard being provided.

There are situations where the websites do not offer virtual keyboard or the virtual keyboard being offered is not loading and we need to key in the password on an urgent basis.

In this article I would like to put forward few techniques which will prevent key-logging softwares from identifying our password.

1) As mentioned earlier use of virtual keyboard being provided by the websites will help us save our password from being hacked by Key logging software.

2) Using Onscreen Keyboard utility available with Windows OS. This is present in the path Start --> All programs --> Accessories --> Accessibility --> On Screen keyboard.
The password or any other information keyed in using on screen keyboard is not recognized or registered by the key logging software.

3) By just following a simple technique to type our password using physical keyboard and mouse we can fool the key logging software. Below are the steps for the simple fooling technique.

a) Suppose your password is my@wind#club$.

b) Type mywindclub using the keyboard.
c) Your password will either be shown like this .......... or ##########.

d) Now using the mouse click after the letter 'y' where @ should be included. Now type @.

e) Similarly key in # and $ also.

f) The key logging software will record the password as mywindclub@#$ since mouse clicks are not recognized by it.

So simple to fool the software!!

4) Last but not the least, never use your name as the password. Use a combination of numbers, alphabets and symbols as your password.
