The Microsoft has released a new product that is window 7 to provide high compatibility level to its customers and the new changes that are introduced in the window 7 just to force the people to use window 7 for personal, home and the enterprise purpose.

As window 7 offers many different features according to the standards of the previous versions.

The new changes that took place in window 7 environment are the following-

Action center

what changes has occured in window 7 as in comparison with earlier version of window ?

* It introduces the new window port which is known as Action center, as this center is used for the detection of the security threats and replaces the role of the window security center and displays the title of the file which detects some threat to the user and also for knowing the status of the various settings and the services which is determined by the window service. Moreover, it also starts monitoring the system and control the running of the applications.

* The heading is used to display he background color such that Green signal displayed that all the settings of our system are normal, Yellow signal displays that problem is not checked by the action center and the Red signal is used to display that there is a security problem in your system.

Multi-touch

* The new feature of the Window 7 is the multi-touch according to which with the help of the Graphic tablet PC that detects the multi-touch capabilities that includes the virtual piano program that will map the direction of the program simultaneously over three or more distinct points with the help of input touches.

* The LED is used and the finger through which we touches the surface causes the sensation in that LED diode and it will sense the signal and perform the operation according to the sensation produced by the finger on the surface. Sometimes, it is pressure sensitive that will depend on the how firm pressure is applied.

Start menu

* The start menu offers different effects on the display screen of the start menu when we move the mouse over it. The big change that you will notice on the start menu pop up box is that it will a blank box is there for searching the files and the folders. It acts as user interface through which user can interact with the various applications and tasks.

* The new enhancement is done in form of windows desktop Update is included to access the special folders like “My Documents, favorites, bookmarks” etc. By adding the word “wireless” will show the control panel options and allows the users to configure and connect to wireless network by adding Bluetooth or the wireless connections.

Themes

* The window 7 has extended the theme support by providing the settings of the colors of the window and desktop background, desktop icons, mouse pointers and other themes that are displayed on the slideshow settings. The provision is also provided for the users who want to download the themes from the internet by using the personalize menu on the desktop that will customize the themes using the Microsoft website.

* The theme are included in the cabinet files with the extension .theme pack and so other so many files and through these file user can switch from one theme to another in a lesser time. The resolution of the theme is 1920*1200 which is displayed on the window7 environment.

User interface

* It also provides the slideshow feature which will represent the desktop in an attractive manner such that desktop background can be changed with the less fading of the display screen as the persistence of the theme settings is for long time. Moreover, the provision is also there to place the Gadgets on the desktop. For example-The Window media player gadgetis provided as the by default gadget and we can load or unload the gadgets using the using the desktop settings.

Windows explorer

* The window explorer supports the virtual folders that help you to locate the track the any file and the folder in your system including the shared folders on the network and search the folder or files either locally or through remotely. These all files that we located either on the desktop or on the disk drives are stored on the libraries and we can even configure the layout of the library.

* This section act as the history block for the user from where the user can search the data by using day, date ,week or the month and it is display all the collection of files and folders along which we you have made the changes few days back. The information is searched with the help of the search box. For example- you want to search the file with name “hello” then enter hello in the search box and it will display all the files with the name hello.

Taskbar

* It is the main tool that helps you to recognize which program is running at present and located at the bottom of the desktop. You can also hide the taskbar by setting it in hide mode and is not visible to the user and if you take the curser or the mouse to the lower end of desktop then it becomes visible only for the period for which you have mouse is at the bottom of the screen. The applications which are in state of execution are judged or easily seen from the taskbar. Even the shortcuts are also there for opening them as icons and they act as the quick launch toolbar.

* The Window 7 taskbar mainly laid stress on the applications without taking care of the titles of the window and we say that it is application oriented as compare to the other earlier versions of window. The user can access the applications instantly and make changes with the position of icons on the taskbar by dragging and dropping the mouse curser. Moreover, the thumbnail preview option is also there on the taskbar through which we can see the small window of the application and interact with it according to our requirement. For example- In window Media Player we can see the thumbnail preview window where we can change the current state of the media player.

Device Management

* In window 7 we have introduced the two user interface for the device management that is “Devices and printers” and Device Stage”. They support full connectivity and capability in a simplified manner.

* The main work of the device management is the activation and the deactivation of various elements when required and settings, installing or removing printers and configure the properties through the control panel. The “device stage” work is to locate the resources in a centralized manner so that the access of the functionality to the internal and the external elements is easy. we can also allocate and deallocate the memory space by creating or destroying the objects of various classes.

* The information of every device is stored in the XML file and downloaded from the file when the devices are connected to the computer and XML file is stored on the CD/DVD.

Virtual hard disks

* A virtual hard disk is the format which allows the user to store the files ,folders ,file system and disk partition and allows the multiple operating systems to residue on a single host machine and due to this feature, developers started testing operating system by creating the separate partitions on a single hard disk. It is basically used on the server machine to provide the full access of the database and other rights to the client who send the request for accessing the resources.

* The main work of it in window 7 environment is to provide the backup and the recovery of the data and also allows the conversion of the data from the physical to the virtual for the proper life cycle management and provisioning. The boot is required for the running of the virtual hard disk.

Removable Media

* As in case of the USB and removing the CD/DVD from the computer, you often faces a problem in ejecting the USB or The CD/DVD from the CPU of the computer by showing the text message ”Window doesn’t allow the safe removal of hardware as this device is currently using by another program”. The window 7 has provided the label under which we have placed the port address of various storage or the removable media in the window explorer.

Format support

* The window 7 includes the WAV,AVI and file media to read the different file formats that can be either Audio or the Video format as the excellent encoder and decoder is there with in built Codecs along with ASF file.

* Also for supporting the playback music the window 7 introduces the special H.264 decoder that will act as the baseline with full support upto level 5.1 and updates are also introduced for increasing the efficiency of the audio and the video formats.

Disk partitioning and Bit locker

* The window 7 environment offers two types of structures of the partitions, the first partitions structure is for booting and the bit locker that is responsible for the for the diagnose and recovery of serious errors that prevents the window from booting successfully. The window recovery environment is installed and booted with hard disk, optical media etc and the second structure is to install the operating system by recover the errors and removes the corrupted files from the system.

* The Bit locker which is used in first structure provides the encryption support for the removable disks such as USB drives by protected by a pass phrase and the recovey key that automatically unlocked the computer. It consists of the encryption algorithm along the help of which 128 bit key combined with the additional disk security as finally act as the bit locker.

Firewall

* It supports the multiple firewalls that will dynamically changes the network traffic, whether the network traffic is blocked or allowed that is based on the location of the computer. The problem occurs in earlier versions of window that is when the computer is connected in the network that offers the connection of the two or more computers but in case of window 7 which provides the separate firewall profile to each network connection and provides the security level to the computers connected in networks.

* The work of the firewall is to prevent your computer from the malicious and the infected specious which will lead to the destruction of your computer by slowing down the speed of your computer or hang any process while it is in state of execution.

Biometrics

* The window 7 provides the framework platform for the various components that standardizes the use of the fingerprints biometric devices by using the device drivers, software development kits and various compatible applications in order to increase the quality and the efficiency of the system, As it is too complex process to execute so repairing and the maintenance of it is difficult.

* It also provides the support for the classes to which different objects or the devices belong by providing an interface for the deleting and disabling the types of accounts by using the concept of biometrics and all these processes are configured easily using the main group policy.

Management features

* The new innovative technology of the window power shell that provides the scripting environment for the power shell access of the application remotely by using the integrated scripting environment that offers software restrictions policy according to which we restrict the application version number.

* It also provides the management folder which that will look for the each and the every event taking place in your computer for local or the global users and also provides with the user accounts login information and other criteria for the better performance of the all round activities taking place in the window 7 environment.

Networking

* It allows the sharing of the computers by the use of the tunnel based technology which provides the direct access server and the domain controller for the issue of the authentication certificates. The window 7 uses the wireless LAN support by using the Virtual Wi-Fi that uses the single network adapter between two clients devices and wireless hotspot which is place or the range of area with in which data access is there and also specifies the area along which we have to provide the signals to the other users connected in a network using wireless access points.
