Here I would like to share with you a guide on, How to Make a Bootable Vista Installation Thumb Drive.
I do not like CDs or DVDs that too often gets lost, scratched or broken and become useless. So what would I do with my Vista installation disks? Well the thought I'd in my mind is to make a Bootable USB memory if I damage or lose my Vista installation discs. It is a fairly simple process and can be done with two free programs.
We will first need the free programs to complete the installation process of Vista Bootable USB drive. The programs are ImgBurn and UltraISO trial. Download and install both programs before moving on to next steps.
Now, you have other things before you start. Make sure you have a USB flash drive that is at least 4 GB in size or more and a Windows Vista installation DVD. Now if you want to do a 32-bit or 64 bit Vista, you must make sure you do this process in the same OS bit version. That is if you want to make a 32 bit Vista Bootable USB, make sure that the current OS is also 32 bit. The case is also checked for 64 bit. That is if you want to make a 64 bit Vista Bootable USB, make sure that the current OS is also 64 bit.
Ok, so now you know, what you need and you have the software installed and ready to be used. So, lets begin. The first thing you have to do is create an ISO file from your Vista hard drive. Open ImgBurn and from the window that opens, select the image file from disk and click the Create button. Now select the options you want, and click the play button and wait to get the large ISO file to the folder where we asled the program to save the file.

Now you can connect your USB stick (make sure there is nothing important in it, as everything will be erased during this process), right click on the icon and select Run UltraISO as an administrator. Click File, then Open, locate where you saved your Vista ISO file and highlight it and select Open. In the bottom left of your window, select the USB thumb drive. Click on the Start menu and write disk images. Make sure that the locations are correct and Verify it once again, then click Burn. Click Yes to confirm that you want to write on the USB drive and let the program do its work. After the process, click the Close button. Now test your thumb drive for Vista installation.
That's all you need to create a boot disk for Vista in a thumb. Very simple and easy. If you have a USB drive big enough, you can add all the drivers into that once the installation is complete, and you have the drivers also, all in one place!
If you have problems booting from your thumb drive, then check the BIOS settings as it may need to prioritize the order of the first boot device. Select the first boot device as the USB as I had to change mine to boot from the flash drive.
I hope that this guide surely helped to make a Bootable USB for the operating system Vista.
