In this resource I will discuss how to disable control panel in windows 7 computer.


In case you do not want other users of your computer to access control panel you can easily disable control panel in your computer.
Let us discuss the methods to disable control panel in Windows 7 computer.

How to disable control panel with group policy in windows 7


1.Go to search box in start menu.
2.Type 'gpedit.msc' in the search box and press enter.
3.Then the local group policy editors appears up.
4.Now go to control panel.
5.Double click on 'Prohibit access to control panel' in the right column.
Now you will not see control panel in the start menu. If any user tries to access control panel thereafter it will appear restricted.

How to disable control panel using Registry in windows 7


1.Go to search box and type regedit in it and hit enter.
2.Now go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Policies\Explorer in the registry editor.
3.Right click in the right pane and create a new DWORD value.
4.Change the value of this DWORD to NoControlPanel.
5.Thereafter right click on the new value and click 'Modify'.
6.Change the value to '1' in the value data field and click OK.
7.Finally close the registry editor and restart your computer.
8.After rebooting your computer, you will not see control panel listed in the start menu.
