How to backup your entire hard drive in Windows 7
It is very much essential and important to take a back up of your system so that the important data can be retrieved from back up in case of a problem with Windows 7.
It is possible to create a whole image of the hard drive in Windows 7. Windows 7 has a nice feature to do this task. Windows 7 exactly copies the same content to another data storage device like DVD, HDD, or USB removable hard disk. It is necessary to have the new hard disk which has same size or more than the one that you are going to back up. Let us now see how we can backup and create a system image in Windows 7.
click on Start button and type "Backup and restore” on the Start Menu text search field
Now click on the link "
Create a System Image
" as shown in the screen shot below.
Now you need to select in which hard drive you wnat to put all the content and you must be sure that there is enough space available in the selected hard drive. You can also create a back up in a DVD also. It is always preferrable to have the back up on a seperate physical hard drive. See the screen shot below for selecting a hard drive for back up.
Next you will be asked which drive to be backed up. Choose the appropriate drive that you want to back up and click on "
Start back up
".
Once you click on "
Start back up
", the back up will start and the selected drives will be backed up.
Please remember that back up is a good practice for all of you. It should always be done on regular basis to safeguard important data. Having a back up of the data will save the unwanted trouble later on.
