How to resolve Symantec LiveUpdate error 536805375

This article explains how to resolve the Symantec LiveUpdate error 536805375 in Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista/2008/7. This issue may occur due to the corrupted file or the installation is not done completely

Symantec LiveUpdate error code – 536805375 in Windows 7

Symantec LiveUpdate may fail many times due to various reasons and you can resolve it by reloading it again. If the files get corrupted or installation is completed then you can’t get the latest update. If you see the Error code 536805375 in Symantec LiveUpdate then it may be because the file gets corrupted or it is not properly installed. Recently I encountered the error and I resolved as explained below.

Check the below solution based on your Operating System

Windows 2000/2003/XP

Open the Control Panel

Open the Add or Remove Programs from the Control panel

Select the LiveUpdate Versionno (Symantec Corporation) and mouse button right click and select Uninstall/Change to uninstall the Symantec Live update.

Select the LiveUpdate Endpoint Protection and right click the mouse button and select Uninstall/Change to uninstall the LiveUpdate Endpoint Protection.

Once the Uninstall is completed then go to C:\Program Files\Symantec; C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared; C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec and delete the directories if it is exists.

Reboot the system once everything is done

Now Install LiveUpdate again and then install the Symantec Endpoint Protection will solve your issue

Now you can run the LiveUpdate to get the latest virus definitions for Windows 2000 server/2003 server and XP

Windows Vista/2008/7

Open the Control Panel

Open the Programs and Features from the Control panel

Select the LiveUpdate Versionno (Symantec Corporation) and right click the mouse button and select Uninstall/Change to uninstall the Symantec Live update.

Select the LiveUpdate Endpoint Protection and right click the mouse button and select Uninstall/Change to uninstall the LiveUpdate Endpoint Protection.

Once the Uninstall is completed then go to C:\Program Files\Symantec\; C:\Usera\All Users\Symantec\ (for Vista); C:\ Program Data\Symantec\ and delete the directories if it exists.

Reboot the system once everything is done

Install LiveUpdate again and then install the Symantec Endpoint Protection will solve your issue

Now you can run the LiveUpdate to get the latest virus definitions for Windows Vista/2008 Server and 7.
