You may experience the problem of your Windows 7 not going to sleep mode. Some times your windows 7 PC sleeps but wakes up randomly. This articles explains you few ways you can try to solve this unable to sleep problem in Windows 7.
Why Windows 7 does not go to sleep mode
The problem of Windows 7 not going to sleep mode may be mainly due to the power settings, drivers or files from a previous installation. Here are the common sleep related problems in Windows 7.

Now let us see what are the possible solutions to the above problems in Windows 7.
Update Windows 7 drivers
: Microsoft releases new updates from time to time. The sleep mode problems may be due to compability issue with the hardware, you should always make sure that you remain updated with updates.
Adjust devices that wake your computer from sleep
: If some of the devices in your computer are preventing it to go to sleep mode, then you can disable that device. If the problem still persists, then you can try disabling the devices one by one.
Check and reset Windows 7 power options
: The sleep problem some times can be solved by changing the power plan options in Windows 7.
1. Select the option 'Balanced' and click on 'Change plan settings' link. '
2. Configure the settings for both On battery and Plugged in to your own preferences by selecting your time intervals from the drop down menus. After you are done, click the 'Change advanced power settings' link.
3. From pop up window of the Power Options, you can adjust all settings to your own preferences. When you are done, click the OK button.
4. Click on 'Save Changes' button and restart your Windows 7 computer.
