- Select the "I accept the license terms" and click the next button to continue the process
- The next screen will show the two options Upgrade and Custom (advanced) , here you need to select the upgrade option to begin the Windows 7 installation. It will copy the needed files to the system and then it will restart the computer after some time and it will ask for the Windows 7 product key . Enter the key and unselect the Automatically activate Windows when I am online and then continue to the next screen
- Now click the use recommended settings and choose the Time Zone and click the Next button to go to the next screen. You can set the Time Zone later also after the installation
- Next screen will allow you to select the type of network and now the Windows 7 Upgrade is completed and then you need to check the upgrade will not messed up the system
- Check the User profile, installed programs and the missing system files. The missing files can be found in the below directories which are hidden by default
C:\$INPLACE.~TR and C:\WINDOWS.~Q or from the C:\Windows.old which is the backup file if the Windows 7 is already installed then automatically the system will take a backup of the previous operating system
- You can clean up the backup folders once everything is done. Use the Windows Disk Cleanup to delete the old back folder and before the make sure that you Windows 7 operating system is working correctly
Now the Windows 7 upgrade is completed and it is ready to use
