How to insert the Valid Product Key in Windows XP

This article is about the insertion of the valid Product Key in Windows XP


Most of the users have install Windows XP operating system. Some of them have invalid product key and some have valid product key.
Most of the users might be required valid product key for the updation of operating system.
The users who have invalid product in their windows and their wants to insert the valid product key.
But don't want to format the operating system.
So how to insert the valid product key in Windows XP.
Just follow these simple steps to insert the valid XP product key in Windows XP.

Steps to insert the Valid Product Key in windows XP



1) Very first thing you need is the valid product key for windows xp.

2) Now click on START Button and then click on RUN

3) Now type regedit in run window and click on OK
Now you will see the Registry Editor Program Window.

4) Now find for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder in my Computer.
Now click on + (PLUS) sign to expand it.

5) Now find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents registry key. Then click Left button of mouse.

6) Now you can see OOBETimerthe in the right window.

7) Now simply Right Click on the OOBETimer and select the modify option in it.

8) Now simply change the one digit in those values in the value data text box and then click on OK. This will deactivate Windows XP.

9) Now simply close the Registry Editor.

10) Now again click on START and then click on RUN

11) Now type the follwoing command in RUN Window and then click on OK
%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a

12) Now you can see the Window appears named Let's activate Windows.
Select the option Yes

13) Now you will the option I want to telephone a customer service.
This is related to activation of Windows.
Then click on Next.

14) Now click on change the Product Key button.
It will displayed at the bottom of the window.

15) Type the new valid product key of Windows XP.

16) Then click on Update Button.

17) Now you have to reactivate the windows XP product key.
Simply follow these steps

18) You will see the Phone Window on your computer screen.
Simply follow the instruction on the monitor screen.


19) Now you can select the option Activate now or Remind me later option.

20) After Activating the Windows XP.
Even you can verify by the Windows XP by follwoing the steps 10 and 11

You can view the windows appears with
Windows is Activated
Now click on OK
