USB stands for Universal Serial Bus. This are mainly used for the purpose to connect a external devices like plug and play devices (mice, printer, joysticks, scanner,digital camera, mobile phones, keyboard..etc) to your computer.

USB devices are the easiest device, where we can connect the device to computer easily and we can easily remove devices.

How install a USB device in windows 1

When we connect any device to USB post, the computer windows will automatically configure the device. No-need to turnoff and on the computer and it allow users to use more than one device at a time. Window will find automatically the drive of the device. We all know without configuring device we will not cake to communicate with the hardwads or devices.
Here I am giving some instruction to you they are

  • Before Installing a device
  • Plugging in and turned on a device
  • Disconnecting the device.


Before installing a device


When you purchase USB device along with the device they will give one instruction manual to you. You have read it and you have check in whether the device requires to install driver or windows will automatically configure. Because some devices need to install suitable in windows otherwire they will not work properlly. For that device we have to install drivers to window manually by CD or software disc remember to follow the instruction in given guide.

Plugging in and turning on a device


if you want to install USB device to computer. You have to plug the device to USB port. Check whether the device has power switch or not. If it has a switch you have to on the switch or if it is not provided with switch leave it. It will on automatically.

one tip
* if you want to connect device permanently or long time such as keyboard, mouse,printer,scanner, modem..etc. you can use Back USB port which is fixed in back of the CPU.

* if you want to connect device for tempervaryly or small time. You can use front USB port which is fixed in the front of the CPU. Such as pendrives, digital cameras, mobile phones..etc.

How install a USB device in windows 2

Plug the device to anyone of the post. If windows has configure automatically then a small notification icon will show as "Ready to use" in the right side of the task bar. If it not showing means there is something problem in connection or it require driver. Install the driver using CD or windows updater.

Disconnecting a device


we know we can remove USB device after the work.for this you have to click "safely remove the device". You can sente your device safely.
