How to solve interference in CRT monitors

The CRT monitors use magnetic field for display of information on the screen. So they are more prone to interference. so when ever a motor or an electric fan is running near a CRT monitor, they will cause interference to the monitor.

The interference is caused by radio signals radiated by electronic / electrical appliances. Some times the interference can cause a horizontal line to appear on the monitor. It is better to move away the appliance causing radio interference away from your monitor / computer.

The magnetic field from an electric motor can cause flickering on the CRT monitor screen. A static magnetic field like that of from your speakers can cause some incorect colors to be seen. You can use degaussing option for your monitor to reduce this kind of problem. Many of the new monitor automtically degauss themselves. The old monitors require you to do degaussing manually.
