Activation of the telnet client on Windows 7

The following steps will show you how the Telnet client on Windows 7 can be activated.

If you attempt a connection on Windows 7 on a Telnet server, you get the following error message "The command "telnet" is either misspelled or could not be found"message.

  • Click "Start" and then "Control Panel". Click the Control Panel window, click "Programs" and then "activate Windows features on or off.

  • Wait one moment from. Then scroll to the item "Telnet Client" and activate it. Then click "OK".

  • Wait a moment until the functions are configured and adopted. This process may take a moment

  • Then scroll to the item "Telnet Client"and enable this. Then click "OK".

  • Wait a moment until the functions and assumed to be configured. This process may take a while.

  • The telnet client is activated and you can easily build a connection to a Telnet server. Simply enter in the search box as the command: telnet 192.168.2.2.
