Boot sector repair on Windows XP

If even the case, Windows occur after power and not more boots on the screen the message appears that no system was found and it is supposed to take a Systemdisk, then it is time for the boot sector repair. Fortunately, the problem is with the damaged boot sector, in most cases easily resolve right.


Boot sector repair


Cancels the startup process of Windows after a few seconds, then it may be that the boot sector and / or the boot.ini is damaged. The repair is designed using a Windows XP CD fairly simple.

After Windows has loaded the CD will start the setup. Enter to install Windows instead of, we now press R to a corrupted installation using the Recovery Console to repair. This will require an administrator password. For a Windows XP Home installation is usually no password assigned. It must be here so just hit Enter to be pressed.

Now we are one by one the following commands and pressing Enter they can each perform:

fixmbr

fixboot

bootcfg / rebuild (note: between and bootcfg / rebuild is a space)

That's it. Now enter nor exit and restart the computer. In most cases, Windows will now properly again high.
