If several people are sharing a computer in a family, for example, then we addressed in most cases for each user a user account with user name and password. If you use a computer all alone, then we often forget to set up a password for their own account. It's not too much more convenient to have to log when the computer boots with the username and password. Here you can easily have both, the security of a user by username and password protected and an automatic logon to Windows.

Set auto login on Windows 7

But how can one now under Windows 7 , the automatic login, so the auto login set up? It's simple.

  • The basis is the one user is logged on with one that has Administrator rights. Then you open the first step, the command prompt. This is for example by typing CMD into the search in the Start menu.

  • Has the command prompt open, we also like your input. You give the command control userpasswords2 one

  • If you now enter key is pressed, a window opens in which the computer appears to be the existing user accounts on. There, of course, the user should also be present, for which one would like to create the auto login.

  • It marks the appropriate user account and disable the box above the listing. So just uncheck the Users must enter username and password removed. This one says Windows this is an auto login, auto login, should be a also.

  • After clicking Apply, Windows will naturally want to know yet with what login information to be made the declaration

  • In the Automatic Login window should be checked again to make sure you have selected the correct user account and enter the appropriate password. As it is indeed easy time typing error, it is necessary to enter the password twice.

  • About OK, you can close each window and then leave and has the auto login on Windows 7 for a selected user account set up. This way an auto login set up only works with the local application on the computer, but not to log on to a domain.
