In this resource I will discuss What are optical storage devices.

Optical storage device is an electro-mechanical unit used for saving and retrieveing information on a special disc medium using a laser light.
Optical drives are designed to work with several types of media like CDs,DVDs

Optical storage means storage of data on an optically readable medium.
In this process data is recorded by making marks in a pattern that can be read back with the help of light.

Ex-cd rom, dvd rometc
