How to remove programs from Windows 7 startup?

In this article, I will explain how to remove programs from Windows 7 startup and avoid launching them automatically any more.
In another article, I explained
how to add programs to Windows 7 startup
. In this resource, I will talk about removing programs from Windows startup.
Launching programs in startup is cool, most of the time. But sometimes, programs may get added to startup without your permission as part of installing some software. Or, the startup programs may become a nuissance and you may not want it any more. If you like to remove any programs from Windows 7 start up, there are couple of options.
Remove programs from startup using System Configuration (MS Config)
Steps:
- Go to Windows 7 Start menu
- In the search box, type msconfig
- Click on msconfig.exe in the search results
- Click on the "Startup" tab in the system configuration window.
- Uncheck the programs you do not want to be started any more.
If the program you want to remove is a Windows service, you can locate it in the "Services" tab and uncheck it.
If the program you want to remove from startup is not listed in the Startup tab, then follow the steps in
how to add programs to Windows 7 startup
and remove the program from the startup folders.
