PSR (Problem Steps Recorder) is the secret tool in Windows7.As the name implies it can record the Windows7 problems in step-by-step manner.It is very useful to troubleshoot your System.
How to use Problem Step Recorder (PSR):
1. First Press
Windows Key+R
to open Run Command. Here type "PSR" and Click 'Ok'.
Or Click the Start Button and Type 'PSR' in the search field.
2. This command will open the Problem Steps Recorder Window.
3. Press 'Start Record Button' or use the shortcut (Alt+A) to start record your Problems.
4. When you click the Start record Button, PSR will enable the 'Add comment' option.
5. If you have problem in the Application, press Add comment .It will open Dialog box, here you can add the comment about problem.
6. In the Screen a 'Plus' (+) symbol cursor displayed. Use this cursor you can select the specific area of the screen as your problem. It will be captured as a Screenshot.(see the image)
7. After adding comment, Press 'Ok' to close that Box.
8. Do the same for Capture your windows problems and Press 'Stop Recording' button.
9. Next, one dialog box open to save your PSR file. Enter the filename and save. (Remember the saved location) or save it in the Desktop.
10. The format of the saved file is Zip. In the Zip file one mht file is stored. This is like a html. You can open this file in Internet Explorer and Opera. That mht file contains the screenshots and comments you added.
This file can very helpful to your System Administrator or any other professional to fix those problems.
