On-Screen keyboard - One of the best inbuilt utilities that comes with Windows

I would like to introduce the different features and the functionality of On-screen Keyboard. This feature comes with the Windows Operating System. This proves to be very useful when a user is having problems with his physical keyboard.

On Screen Keyboard and its functions

Worried that a damaged keyboard is a work stopper until you get the new one. Bored of typing. Is your finger injured to operate a key board but it is ok with you to operate a mouse. The there is a solution for all the above problems.
I am not going to tell you about any medicine or herb that will cure all your problems. Instead I am going to introduce you to a utility that is provided by Windows.

I am not joking. This is a fact. Windows is providing an utility that provides solutions for all the above problems I have mentioned. Yes, I am talking about the On-Screen Keyboard being provided by Windows.

On-Screen key board is a logical in built keyboard that has all the keys as the standard keyboard and can be operated using the mouse. The following steps are to be followed to open the on-screen keyboard.

1) Click on Start
2) Click on All Programs
3) Click on Accessories
4) Click on Accessibility
5) Here you have the option of On-Screen Keyboard. Click on it.

A message box will pop up along with the on-screen keyboard saying that this provides minimum functionality for impaired users.

Different features of On-Screen Keyboard

The on-screen keyboard can be viewed in two modes. One is the standard mode and the other is the enhanced mode. In the standard mode you will not have the numeric keypad portion. In the enhanced mode you will find all the features available in the present key boards.

These two modes can again be viewed in two styles. The regular layout style and the block layout style. In the regular layout style you have the option of viewing 101, 102 and 106 keys. These all can be selected a per the requirement of any individual. These options are available under the keyboard option on the menu tab.

The other settings that are available with the on-screen keyboard are selecting how to access the keys. By clicking or just by hovering on the keys. The time to hover can also be selected.

We can also choose to play a sound for every click on the keyboard.

Having all these functionalities makes the online screen board easy and interesting to access even in the presence of a normal keyboard.
