A power plan is system setting that is helpful to save energy in your computer. The default power plans in windows 7 are Balanced and Power Saver. We can also create our own power plans. You will learn how to create your own power plan in Windows 7.
Creating your own power plan in windows 7
A Powser plan is a system setting that is helpful to save energy in your computer and optimize its performance. The power plans not only save energy but maximize system performance.
The default power plans in Windows 7 are - Balanced and Power saver. The balance mode of power plan automatically balance the performance with energy consumption. The Power saver plan saves energy by reducing the performance of your Windows 7 computer.
It is possible to create your own power plan in windows 7. Let us see how you can create your own power plan in windows 7.
1. Open the Control panel.
2. Now the control panel windows opens. Then click on 'System and Security'
3. In the System and Security windows that appears, you have to click on the 'Power Options' icon.
4. Once the power options window appears, you have to click on the "Create a power" plan link in the left pane ( as shown in the screen shot below).
5. Now you can select a power plan which is closest to what you want as custom plan (either balanced, power saver or high performance and type the name of the custom power plan ( as given in the screen shot below ) and then click on 'Next'.
6. Now you can choose how many minutes to wait for switching off the display and put the computer to sleep mode.
Once finished, you can click on 'Create' button. Now you will see your custom plan listed under Preferred plans. That is all is needed to create your own custom power plan for your windows 7 computer.
