How to Troubleshoot Broken MasterBootRecord in Windows 7 and Vista.

If you have installed too many operating system in one system like Linux and windows ,it changes the MasterBootRecord of your Windows. If your windows MBR modified or Broken means you cannot Boot Your Windows .Read this article to fix your MasterBootRecord Problems.

I installed Linux in my laptop with windows 7 and the computer became very slow because of low memory. So that I wanted to uninstall ubuntu and I did it in a very easy but stupid way. I deleted the partitions with a program that I used in Windows.
When i restarted the laptop, i have the following problem,
GRUB loading 1.5. Error 22 and Windows not boots up.
But I already knew how to fix Windows (Vista and Windows 7) Broken MBR (MasterBootRecord).

Here’s how :

1. First you should switch On your laptop/system and insert your Windows 7 or Vista Operating system Installation CD in the CD/DVD drives.
2. After you start your system press F12 key. By pressing F12 key, Windows Boot Up options displayed .Click using CD/DVD to Boot Windows. This option Boots up your windows Operating system and begin to display installation setup.

3.Now Here you can Choose your language, time, and keyboard and click “Next” button to continue the Boot Recovery.

4. And then,You should click "Repair your Computer" link recover the boot menu.

5. After you selecting "repair your computer" link.The System Recovery Options Windows will be displayed

6.here you can select the your installed "Operating System"(if you installed windows 7 means,select the windows 7 operating system) and then click “Next” button .

7. Now open the “Command Prompt” in the recovery windows. Recovery windows opens the command prompt Window.

8. In the command Prompt Directory location ,displayed like this
X:\Resources>
Here Type the following Commands to fix the MasterBootRecord of your Windows.

X:\Resources>bootrec.exe /fixmbr
X:\Resources>bootrec.exe /fixboot

9. Next remove the Windows installation disc and Restart your system.It restores the Windows MBR and system can easily boot windows 7 or vista normally.
