Generally there are many options available with Windows that makes the life easier for people who work on the computer. But these are least known to people who work regularly on a computer.
Tips for Saving time while Using a computer.
I have been using computer from the past 10 years, though bought an own computer just 6 years back, have been finding ways of reducing the time taken for performing some regular or routine tasks. In this process I have started using keyboard shortcuts in place of mouse that I have
introduced
in my earlier resources.
Now I would like to introduce few tips which save a lot of time while working on the computer. When you will read them you will feel that how did you miss these options that are right in front of your eyes but have never been realized by you.
Saving Time while giving a printout
Consider the situation where you have a word document of 100 pages to print and it takes 5 minutes for the Word Document to open it for printing. Am I correct. Sometimes even for a single page document to open up takes ample amount of time. There is a simple technique that helps avoid this situation.
1) Browse for the file that you want to print.
2) Right click on the file.
3) Click on the print command.
As simple as it sounds. This does not require the document to be opened and your work of printing is done. Very easy right!!!
Saving Time in going to a frequently used tool or utility in the ALL PROGRAMS tab.
Do you use MS Paint on a regular basis? Do you love playing minesweeper daily? If the answer for such type of question is yes, then you have one more question to answer. Do you go to Start --> All programs --> Games and then click on Minesweeper? Generally there are programs that are in the My Programs tab that we use on a regular basis. It is time taking process to navigate through the Start menu and then reaching the required program.
There is an option available with Windows that helps in reducing this navigation time.
1) Go to START
2) Click on All Programs
3) Go to the program/tool that you use most frequently from this place
4) Right click on it.
5) In the options presented click on Pin to Start Menu
Now this can be found as and when you click on Start button. Quite easy right.
Saving time to locate an item
Have you pinned few applications and your start menu is full of the shortcuts of the applications that you have pinned. No more space on the start menu to place a few more and hence navigating again. Doing so will consume a lot of time again. The simple thing to accommodate few more on the start menu is to reduce the size of icons that are on your start menu.
Follow these steps to reduce the size
1) Right Click on the start menu
2) Click on Properties
3) Select Start menu and click on customize
4) Select Small Icons option.
5) Click twice on OK
The size of your icons are reduced and you can easily accommodate a few more there.
Make a practice of using these things and will be saving time which you can spend on MWC to earn a bit more money and gain some more knowledge.
