The following are the requirements to run Windows 7 in your computer.

A CPU of 1 GHz or faster (either 32 bit or 64 bit processor

1 GB of 32 bit RAM or 2 GB of 64 bit RAM

16 GB of hard disk space (32 bit) or 20 GB (64 bit)

DirectX 9 Graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Here are some additional requirements to use certain features in Windows 7.

Video playback may require additional memory and advanced graphic software based on the resolution.

Some games may require a graohics card compatible with DirectX 10 or higher for a good performance

You will need specific hardware for Windows Toouch and tablet PC

To set up home group, you will need a network and PCs running Windows 7.

you will need additinal 1 GB of RAM and additional 15 GB of hard disk space for Windows XP mode.

You will need trusted platform module 1.2 for BitLocker

Windows 7 also works with multi-core processors. All the versions ( 32 bit) of windows 7 support upto 32 processor cores where as all 64 bit versions support upto 256 processor cores.

The Windows 7 Starter, Home basic, and Home premium will recognise ony one physical processor in your computer. The windows 7 professional, enterprise and ultimate allow and recognise two physical processors.
