Disable thumbnails in the taskbar of Windows 7

When you pass the mouse over an icon in the taskbar, and thumbnails of open windows and tabs are displayed. You can disable these thumbnails by editing the registry.

Steps to follow Disable thumbnails in the taskbar of Windows 7

Click Start.

Enter regedit in the search field and then confirm with Enter.

Pull the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Explorer, Advanced.

Click menu Edit, on New and click DWORD Value 32-bit.

Name the value ExtendedUIHoverTime. Double click it.

Select the database Decimal.

Enter 10000 in the field data value. Click OK and close the Registry Editor.

Restart your computer to apply the change. When you place your mouse over the icons in the taskbar, and thumbnails of open windows will not be displayed (in fact, they will be displayed after 10 seconds).

To view them simply click on the icon.
