In this resource I will give review of Cain & Abel v4.9.31, a windows password recovery tool.

Cain & Abel, as a free Windows password recovery tool, is very popular and certainly one of the leaders in the category. It has a lot of Pros over the other Windows password recovery tools. It is free and has faster recovery,
Yes it's free (and fast) but considering that you have to install it on the computer from a working user account, I can't recommend this program over better tools like Ophcrack and Offline NT Password & Registry Editor.

Review of Cain & Abel v4.9.31 and how to use Cain & Abel v4.9.31

Cain & Abel v4.9.31is a very good software to get the password of other users on your computer .However you will not be able to use Cain & Abel to recover your password if you can not access your windows PC.
Now let us come to how to use Cain and Abel .First of all go to their website and download the Windows NT/2000/XP version of the program. Thereafter install it on your computer. During installation you will be asked to install WinPcap. You will also need to download a free XP rainbow table from the internet.

Then start the Cain & Abel program and click on Cracker tab. Thereafter click on the LM & LTLM Hashes and then click the big blue plus sign on the Cain toolbar. Also ensure that the Import Hashes from local system radio button is checked and click Next Right-click on the username whose password you want to crack .

Select Cryptanalysis Attack, then LM Hashes then go to via RainbowTables (OphCrack). Click the ... button in the LM Hashes cryptanalysis window, and select the folder you extracted the free rainbow tables to. Finally click OK and then Start.

Now leave the rest to Cain & Abel. It will give you the password next few minutes.
