This article describes about the use of gadgets which is introduced in Windows Vista and carried over in windows 7 which has some additional features.

How to use the Gadgets for Windows 7


Many of us might not know about the gadget which is a feature in Windows 7.

What is a gadget?


A gadget is a small program which shows useful information in your desktop. Microsoft introduces the gadget in Vista which is similar like the widgets in Mac operation system.To add a gadget in windows desktop you need a sidebar which is provided by microsoft.

So we will see how to add the gadgets in my windows 7 desktop, from windows 7 desktop right click the mouse button and you can see the "Gadget", Click on the Gadgets and you can see a list of gadgets that will be useful to monitor computer CPU Usage, Battery usage, Processor Usage, Currency exchange rate, Different Geographical timings, Calender, Feed Headlines are some of the basic Gadgets that are added to your windows 7 pc by default.

To add a new gadget

Gadgets can be added to the slide bar which is attached at the right side of your desktop. You can also move freely and keep the Gadget at any location on the desktop. Check the below picture
