Main keys in the Windows registry

In this article i list out some of the main keys available in the windows registry.
To access the registry, open the Start menu, then Run and type "regedit"
The different keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_ROOT: It is also found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \. It contains links between the different types of files and applications that match (eg "*. doc = Word Win", "*. xls = Excel" ...). All types of system files are referenced, and the routines of drag and drop.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER: This key is incorporated in all settings specific to the current user, such as wallpaper, screen saver, etc.. There are other important keys:
1)AppEvents (associations of sounds to system events)
2)Control Panel (Control Panel elements specific to the user)
3)Environment (variables such as the user TEMP and TMP)
4)Network (network configuration and network drives)
5)KeyBoard Layout (locale of the keyboard)
6)Printers (printer configuration)
7)RemoteAccess (DUN)
8)Software (configuration and software options installed)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE: It includes all the important system parameters and configurations absolutely necessary for an optimal fluidity of Windows XP. In this key are grouped software configurations (programs) and hardware of the computer, as the parameters of the graphics card, network card, etc..
HKEY_USERS: This key contains all the settings for all users. The key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER is included.
HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG: This key contains information about the hardware profile used.
