What is peer to peer

Peer to peer is a type of networking in which all the computers are connected to a network and at any time any of these computers can act as a server and any other can act as its client.This is in contrast to the traditional networking in which there are dedicated computers called servers for other computer users called as clients to access it.

Softwares needed to use peer to peer

To use peer to peer networking you will need to install software like Napster and Kazza.The first software developed based on this protocol was Napster developed in May 1999.Later other similar softwares like Kazza and edonkey also came in the market.BitTorrent was another software based on peer peer networking that became very successful.
