Here is some tips to organize your files and folders in Windows 7.
Forgot where you have placed an important document on your system. Are you getting frustrated of locating what is where on your PC?This is all just because your folders are very dis organized.
Dedicate some time to overcome this silly problem which makes you crack your head at times.
Here are a few tips to keep all your folders organized:
1) Go through all the files in your system and decide which one are no longer required.
2) Create a folder by the name "tobedeleted" and place all the files in this.
3) Cross check this folder and delete the files that you strongly feel are no longer required.
4) My Documents folder depicts the nature of work you do.Place all the most frequently used files in this folder which, at a later time, are easily accessible.
5) Always give meaningful names to files and folders.
6) Place all the files related to a particular type or work in a single folder.
7) Avoid too long folder hierarchy.
8) Use sub folders where required rather than placing hundreds of files in a single folder.
9) Avoid Long names for Folders which make them unreadable.
10) Use shortcuts for file and folder names where possible.
11) Arrange the personal and professional stuff separately. Maintain separate drives for both of them where possible.
12) Now as you have clearly organized all your files and folders, clean up all your files periodically to avoid repeating all the above steps again.
