Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox is one of the best internet browsers currently available. Mozilla has given a very tough competition to Internet Explorer, the leading internet browser in the world.

When and how Mozilla Firefox started

Firefox started in September 2003 when it had another name called phoenix. More surprising is the fact that at that time the first version was not even available as an installer but as an executable. One needed to click on an executable in order to start Mozilla. However it had many important features like popup blocker, tabbed browsing and an integrated download manager.

Various versions of Firefox

Phoenix 2 was launched on 10 october 2002 and had a plenty of additional features. The tool bar was completely changed now and side bar was introduced in this version. There were many other features like option to add extensions and themes to the browsers.

Phoenix version 0.3 was first version of mozilla to have an integrated search engine in the browser.
The next version got its name changed from phoenix to Firebird.It had almost all the earlier bugs fixed but had a disadvantage that there was increase in the file size.

Firefox 0.8 had Google as the default search engine and an option to install other search engines too.
Thereafter Firefox PR 0.10 was released with all the earlier bugs fixed .
Thereafter version 1.0 was released in November 9 , 2004 and had support for a number of languages .It had a number of other exciting features too.
