Of course, install or uninstall software on your computer is a priori not something complicated. It is usually sufficient to follow the instructions that appear on the screen and in a few clicks is all over. But in the background, it tends to change a number of settings and to influence the behavior of Windows. That is why some tips and precautions are to avoid unnecessary hassles. First, know that these operations must be performed when no other program is used.
Remove a component of Windows If you do not plan to use some software built into Windows, you can disable them or remove them so they do not encroach on the beds of those you prefer instead. This allows you the same opportunity to tidy up your hard drive. To do this, open the Control Panel by double-clicking its desktop icon or through the Start menu and click on "Programs" then "Programs and Features". In the left section of the window that appears, click on "Enable or disable Windows features. After a few moments, a list of programs and functions built into Windows 7 appears. To remove certain elements, such as software Windows DVD Maker or Windows Media Player, uncheck the box next to their name. Click "Yes" to confirm each choice and then "OK" to close the window.
Install software Current task, the installation software does not pose any particular problem theoretically. It is usually sufficient to insert the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM software in the drive of your computer and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. If nothing happens, it must then manually start the installation as a software you would download from the Internet.
For this, double-click the Computer icon from the desktop and click the drive icon into which is inserted the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM software with your right mouse button and choose "Explore." The list of folders and files on the CD or DVD of your software will appear. Find the file Setup.exe, Install.exe or so nomdulogiciel.exe (nomdulogiciel where is the name of your software) and double click it.
To prevent recurrence of the problem, open the control panel by double-clicking its desktop icon or through the Start menu and click on "Hardware and Sound" click "AutoPlay." At the line "Software and games," make sure "Install or Run Program" or "Always ask" is selected. Click on "Save" to save the change.
By default, the software that you install their record files in the folder C: / Programs on your hard drive. To use another folder, choose "Custom Install" which is offered by the window to install your software and specify yourself which will be the target folder.
Many software applications are still configured for older versions of Windows and indicated they will install their files in the folder C: / Program Files My Computer. This is the equivalent of your C: / Program of Windows 7 that was used for example Windows 98 and Windows XP. In most cases, Windows 7 corrects itself an anachronism and installs the software in its folder C: / Program without creating a hypothetical file C: / Program Files would be inappropriate. But nothing prevents you still choose again the option "Custom Install" of the window to install your software to manually select the correct folder C: / Programs.
Follow all instructions. It is generally suggested that you select the shortcut to be installed in the Start menu, the taskbar and desktop. If a window asks you to restart Windows to complete the installation, click "Yes" or "Restart now".
Uninstall software itself To remove software from your computer, it is not enough to send the shortcut on the desktop or hard drive folder to the Trash. It must go through a special feature of Windows for the "prevention" so that it also removes all traces of the software in its system files. Quite simply, the procedure can be performed following two different methods:
Click the "Start" then "All Programs" and the Software folder that you want to uninstall. Here, find the link called "Uninstall" or "Uninstall" (in English) and click it. If the dialog "User Account Control" appears, click "Yes". Open the Control Panel by double-clicking its desktop icon or through the Start menu and click on "Uninstall a program" under "Programs." Select the software you want to delete from your hard drive and click on "Uninstall / Change" or "Uninstall".
In both cases, follow the instructions that appear to uninstall the screen. Restart Windows if prompted.
Manage the programs selected by default For each action to be performed or to open each file, Windows remembers which software to use by default. For example, if you want to open a file. Doc is the software that opens Word. If you click on a link in an email received, it is the browser Firefox rather thanInternet Explorer that will open, etc. If these choices do not suit you, you can totally change. To do this, open the Control Panel by double-clicking its desktop icon or through the Start menu and click on "Programs" then "Default Programs" and finally "Set Program Access and Defaults." In the window that appears, Windows displays a list of different software installed on your computer. Select a program to bring out the two choices:
In "Define this program as the default program, you will make the referral program for all he can do. For example, a browser like Internet Explorer, it will have him open web files. Htm,. Html and shortcuts. Urls, but also to be used for file transfer by FTP (when there specialized software more effective for this). With "Choose defaults for this program, you can evaluate on a case by case elements that should or should not control. Check the boxes located in front of file extensions that should open with the software and then click Save to validate your choice.
