Drivers in the Windows 7

What is a driver?

In general if we are planning for starting a travels business the first thing that we will focus on will be the buying of vehicles such as cars and buses etc. But can we run the vehicles just like that after we buy it? No this is not possible. We need drivers for the same. So this example can also be taken for the system drivers also. Buying vehicles is related to the buying Hardware components of the system assembling. And to use and run all this hardwares there comes the necessity for the drivers.

Necessity of Drivers:-

Here comes the definition of Drivers. Generally drivers are the one those are used to drive something. Similarly the drivers in the system is associated with the motherboard and the drivers provide information on what type of hardware is connected and how to make the hardware work in the efficient manner. There are also various versions of the drivers available. Without the drivers there will not be any use in connecting the hardware to the system because it wont work.

Features of the drivers:-

• The drivers are basically motherboard dependent.
• Each and every mother board model will have some different motherboard drivers.
• Without the motherboard drivers some of the external components or hardware that you connect will not be detected.
• Mother board drivers can be said as the one that provides information to the motherboard about the hardware that is connected and the type of the hardware connected.
• Drivers can be updated according to the updates available online
• Each and every operating system has different motherboard driver compatibility

Drivers in windows 7 :-

The windows 7 is the excellent operating system developed by the Microsoft corporation that was released rectifying all the drawbacks of the windows vista and the previous versions of the windows operating system.

The excellent thing to note and quote about the windows 7 is that the operating system does not need any motherboard drivers basically. If the board is the latest board or if the board is the popular board then the windows 7 automatically installs and updates the driver for the devices that are connected and installed. The basic drivers such as the audio driver and the network driver comes along with the operating system so that there will not be any necessity for the external driver components.

Missing drivers for windows 7: -

In some cases there are many possibilities that the windows 7 operating system will not install the drivers automatically for some versions of the motherboard. In such cases you dont have any necessity to search for the driver CD. If you have missed the Driver disk for your system then you can very well use the windows update to search the driver for your system. You can go to the device manager and use the option update driver so that the driver gets updated in your system. If there are no drivers also the online solution can help you find out the problem and give suggestions or solution to your problem.

Procedure to Update driver in Windows 7: -

To get into Device manager you can click start and there in the search bar you should type Device Manager. Following window will appear

After that you can click on any component or the hardware that is listed there. If you want to update the driver for that particular hardware you can just right click on the hardware and select the Update Driver option. The following window will appear.

Update Driver

This is the procedure to update driver in your system. This will definitely work out for all the motherboards and the hardware components.
