I will tell you about some general keyboard shortcuts for Windows Operating system in this article.

Many of us are used to using mouse to perform all the actions on a computer.

But there is a much more simplified way and time saving way which can be replaced many times for using the mouse.

Below is a list of Key Board shortcuts for generally performed actions while using a computer.

1) ctrl+A - To select all the contents in a file/folder
2) ctrl+C - To copy the contents from a file/folder
3) ctrl+X - To cut the contents from a file/folder

( the difference between CUT and COPY is CUT removes the contents from source after they are pasted to destination adn COPY makes a copy of the contents in the destination and still retains them in the Source.)

4) ctrl+V - To paste the contents to a file/folder.
5) ctrl+Z - To undo an action
6) ctrl_Y - To redo an action
7) F2 - To rename a file or folder
8) F3 (Function Key at the top of the keyboard) - For searching a file/folder.
9) Alt+Enter - Displays the properties of a file/folder
10) Ctrl+Esc - Displays the Start Menu
11) Alt+Tab - To scroll between open windows
12) desktop icon on keyborad+ D - To view the desk top
13) Shift+Del - Completely deletes a file from the system.

Make a habit of using these key board shortcuts and you will get addicted to using them even if you have your mouse handy.
