Finally we have decided the rules for the First Diamond Awards. Thanks to all of you for giving your valuable suggestions in this forum thread Give your suggestions to form rules for "First Diamond Awards" for forming the rules.
As the name suggests and according to the declaration by Founder & Webmaster of MWC Mr.Tony, these awards will be given to the first few members who reach the diamond level in MWC, subject to certain conditions or rules. At the time of announcement there were no rules / conditions defined for this greatest award.
MWC contains many sections and the most important sections are Resources, Forums, Reviews and Practice test questions. Members can also earn points from products, product photos, tags in resources, videos, polls and others. So the following rules / norms have been finalized for the first diamond awards in MWC.
1. Points earned from the following sections will not be counted,
Points from Gifts received and for real profile photo;
Points from false referrals and which were not verified;
Points earned from section which were not officially declared open by MWC;
Points from polls and poll voting;
Points from award and prize credits, if any;
Points earned from posting product photos and tags in resources;
Points earned from bookmarking and link submissions; and
Points earned from video submissions.
2. Points from all other sections will be reckoned and counted in the following manner:
Resources - Full points scored;
Reviews - 75% of the points scored;
Practice Test Questions - 50% scored;
Product submission - 50% of the points scored; and
Forum - 25% of the points scored [points include threads & responses].
3. Even though members can normally reach Diamond level by earning total 5000 points, for this specific award, we will consider the person only after he/she earns 5000 points as per the above criteria.
4. The second, and other 3 winners will be decided on the same basis of points, giving atmost importance to Resources, Reviews, Practice tests and Participation in Forum in the mentioned order.
5. The member with maximum points from Resources and with good quality posts will have the maximum chance to be in top position and hence it does not depend on the points earned in total in MWC.
6. We will review the contributions of each member reaching Diamond Level and decide the winners according to the above mentioned rules.
7. The winners are going to be declared only after having at least 7 diamond level members in the normal course. (The review of individual posts is expected to take more than one month to declare the winners)
8. The decision of Webmasters will be final and binding one in the declaration of the Awards.

Hi,
I am agree with some of those and not completely. As you said most important sections are Resources, Forums and Review, begin a technical site you need to consider the forms as one of the top priority. Percentage of Points for Forums is little bit low
I think MWC need to differentiate the forum response in to two categories. One should go to the technical questions response and another should go to general response. Because responding to technical questions will improve the web site by allowing more people to post their technical questions.
I hope MWC will consider the Forum Technical Questions

The rules for first diamond award for members is very lenghthy and too much of rules.
I dont thinks all members will agree to these points putforth by the decision makers of this site.
Lets see how the members react.

Thanks for coming up with these rules that will help a lot in the betterment of MWC.
So far as my opinion is concerned I am fully convinced and satisfied with the rules.Only one thing I did not like about this whole thing is that rules should have been declared at the time of declaration of the contest or atleast it should have been mentioned there that rules will be declared in future.I have seen such a situation for first time when rules are being declared so late.
However now that you have come up with the rules I hope they will be final now and will decide the winners for the contest.Some doubts regarding the rules are-
1.Now you will consider the first member reaching 5000 points on the basis of rules provided as winner or not.Or you may decide another meber as winner based on the quality of resources.Please clarify it to avoid confusion in future.
Again I hope that members will start now posting good resources and reviews.MWC is in a crucial stage and we must work hard to make it a huge success in future.

Thanks for letting us know the rules for being considered for the first diamond award winner.
The rules would make people concentrate more ton the quality which would help MWC reach its goal of being the best Windows site.
Hope, all the members would take this in a positive approach and contribute more and target to be the first diamond award winner.

Well, as per the rules, once the 7th member joins for the diamond status, all the diamond members from No.1 to 7 will be short listed and taken up for scrutiny of their contributions for deciding the awards. At present MWC has two members who have reached diamond status, so once the number reaches 7, we will start our work. Also it gives greater opportunity to others who reach diamond status early to contribute more valuable contents so as to stay ahead. Also, it gives fair chance to No.6 & 7 diamond status members to make healthy contributions so that they can also have their chance to win a prize. Therefore, it is going to be chronological analysis only. So members who are ahead in their contributions need not worry about losing their status unless they stop their contribution and make way for their junior diamond status members to take away the prizes. Its the question of reaching the top and staying there too.
